These FAQs cover terms and conditions for all ticket holders at the Townsville Medieval and Fantasy Festival 2024.

PLEASE NOTE AND OBSERVE OUR RULES OF THE FESTIVAL

  • Tickets are Limited! - This is to ensure the event is accessible for all by allowing adequate seating, facilities, food, etc for all our guests. Our capacity amount has been set by our team and it is what we are happy with and while we know some people will be sad on missing out, we encourage everyone to show their support as the more we can show the local and state government that events like this are wanted, the more chance we have to get bigger and better every year!

  • Animal Policy: We love our furry friends but for the safety of our animal performers and other guests please leave them at home. Exception for service animals which can be registered upon entry.

  • Outside Beverages: No outside beverages may be brought into the festival.

    • Exceptions:

      • Any liquids required for medical purposes and medically indicated nutritional supplements

      • Baby food/baby formula

  • Supervision of Underage Guests: Please supervise your children at all times. Guests under the age of 14 must be accompanied by a guest age 18 or older to enter the festival.

  • Alcohol Consumption: Alcoholic beverages purchased at the Townsville Medieval and Fantasy Festival must be consumed on premises. No outside alcohol is permitted inside the park. All patrons are required to produce valid identification to purchase alcoholic beverages, and no one under the age of 18 will be served. Please drink responsibly.

  • Inclement Weather: The Townsville Medieval & Fantasy Festival is an all weather event and will run rain or shine. The festival reserves the right to temporarily shut down during electrical storms, heavy rain, high winds or otherwise dangerous weather conditions. There are no refunds for inclement weather IF the festival remains open.

  • Attire Guidelines:
    The Festival is an outdoor family friendly event. We suggest you dress for the day’s weather and wear comfortable walking shoes.

    1. Family-Friendly: Costumes and clothing must be appropriate for all ages. Avoid anything offensive, violent, or inappropriate.

    2. Footwear: You must wear shoes at all time.

    3. Inappropriate Attire: We have the right to deny entry to or remove anyone wearing clothes that we find inappropriate or distracting to other guests.

    4. Dress Code Standards: Please dress as you would for any public place that requires proper attire.

    Remember: Our goal is to ensure a comfortable and enjoyable experience for everyone, so please follow these guidelines. If you have any questions about what is acceptable, feel free to contact us in advance!

  • Smoking: For the comfort of all of our guests, smoking of tobacco, e-cigarettes or other products that produce a vapor or smoke are allowed only in designated areas. Please follow all instructions and signage. Guest who smoke/vape outside of these areas may be removed from the venue and have their ticket revoked.

  • Costumes: Our Guests are welcome to wear medieval and fantasy costumes suitable for a family-friendly atmosphere to get into the spirit of the festival! However, costumes should be in keeping within the theme of the festival and we reserve the right to deny admission to or remove any person wearing attire that we consider inappropriate or attire that could detract from the experience of other Guests.

  • Weapons Policy:
    The Festival is a peace-bound event. Fake, foam, plastic, and wooden weapons are permitted as part of a costume. Real or functional weapons are not permitted, however blunt steel weapons may be approved at the discretion of Security only if they are fully sheathed throughout the day. All weapons, including foam, must be presented to front-gate security for inspection on entry. Approved weapons must remain secured at all times and may only be removed for photographs. Any weapon seen being waved, brandished, drawn, or misused will be immediately confiscated, and the patron may be removed from the event without refund. Firearms (including replicas), crossbows, functional bows or arrows, spears, pikes, maces, oversized axes, weighted or studded gear, and any item deemed unsafe are strictly prohibited. Security has final authority on all weapon decisions.

  • Standards of Conduct: Please show common courtesy to fellow guests and festival representatives by not using profanity or engaging in unsafe, illegal, disruptive or offensive behaviour.

  • Security Screening: All persons, bags, parcels, clothing and other items may be subject to screening/security checks at the entrance of the festival.  We reserve the right not to allow any bag, parcel or other item to be brought into the festival.

  • Solicitation & Uncontracted Performances: The distribution of printed or recorded materials, the sale of goods or services to include the display of goods or services for sale, is prohibited.  No uncontracted performances are permitted.  All performances are scheduled by the festival. Unauthorized events, demonstrations or speeches, or the usage of any flag, banner or sign for commercial purposes, or to incite a crowd is prohibited.

  • Photography: Our staff and/or contracted vendors may photograph, film, videotape, record or otherwise reproduce the image and/or voice of any person who enters the festival and use the same for any purposes without payment to any person.  Photography, videotaping or recording of any kind for commercial purposes is prohibited unless approved by the festival organisers.

  • Hone Events has official photographers and videographers recording this event.

    By attending this event, you understand and agree that:

    Hone Events may use video, audio, photographs or other recordings of you from this event for purposes of advertising or other uses (incl radio, television, internet, print etc).

    You waive the right to approve any video, audio, photographs or other recording of you that may be used.

    You waive the right to any compensation associated with any use of video, audio, photographs or other recording of you.

    You release Hone Events and its owners, affiliates, officers, partners, volunteers, agents, subcontractors and any other authorised person/entity from claims arising from use of any video, audio, photograph or other recording of you taken by authorised or unauthorised photographers and videographers at this event.

    If you would prefer for you or your child not to be photographed/video, please speak to the photographer on the day.

    ALL OF THE OFFICIAL PHOTOGRAPHERS AND VIDEOGRAPHERS REPRESENTING HONE EVENTS – TOWNSVILLE MEDIEVAL & FANTASY FESTIVAL WILL HAVE AN OFFICIAL MEDIA PASS VISIBLE.

  • ANY PHOTOGRAPHER THAT DOES NOT HAVE A PASS are NOT A REPRESENTATIVE OF OUR EVENT.

  • Absolutely NO DRONES to be used during the event.

  • Admission: We reserve the right to deny admission, or to require a person already admitted to leave the festival, without refund, liability or compensation if we consider that the circumstances so require.  Tickets and other entitlements are non-transferable, non-exchangeable, non-refundable, revocable and void if altered.  The ticket must be used by the same person during its period of validity and is not valid for special events that require a separate admission charge.  There are no pass outs for this event and your ticket can only be scanned once. Should you need to exit and re-enter the front gate staff will provide you a stamp.

LOST & FOUND:

Visit the Information Tent located near the Workshop for lost children and lost and found items. The Townsville Medieval and Fantasy Festival, Hone Events & Cluden Park is not responsible for lost, missing or stolen personal property. With any Lost & Found inquiries, please email admin@townsvillefestivals.com. Include any relevant information on the item that was lost, and the time which you visited the festival and a representative will correspond with you via email.

HANDICAP ACCESSIBILITY:

The festival is an outdoor event. Wheelchairs and motorized wheelchairs are welcome and Cluden is generally wheelchair friendly/accessible.  Pathways vary from grass, light mulch, and dirt with minor rolling elevation changes. Guests are welcome to use their own wheelchairs or single passenger ECV’s.  Wheelchairs, strollers or ECV’s are not currently available to rent.

RESTROOMS:

Restrooms signs will be located throughout the festival. There is built in facilities as well as hired toilet blocks. Some may be gendered, some may be unisex. This decision is made to keep line wait times to a minimum.

FIRST AID:

First Aid personnel are onsite during festival hours. Staff members throughout the festival can call for medical assistance if a guest requires assistance.
There is a first aid tent and Queensland Ambulance will be located in various locations. Check map for details.

TICKETS:

All tickets purchased online are Print-at-Home tickets. Print-at-Home tickets allow you to print your actual tickets for the event using any regular inkjet or laser printer. When you arrive to the festival, you can present your printed tickets or your digital ticket via smart device. These tickets can only be scanned once to avoid fraud.
